The Difference It Makes
★★★½
Near the mid 2000s club culture and electronic dance music became a bigger craze than ever, still expanding even to the present day. I personally think this popularization has lead to a lot of watered down releases from multiple genres, but has in turn created a more vibrant and intense underground scene.
While this isn't part of that scene, it's more like the rise of poppish sensibilities within the different genres of club music. Each of the three tracks on this single stands out as completely different.
The original: a testament to layered smooth house tracks. The Petter's remix is a call to the harder hitting acid techno scene and the Fungle Fix is a drum and bass version which reminds me of the earlier days of Metalheads brought forward once more.
I think the Petter's version is the most unique and interesting track on here, but each song is good in its own way. There's something for the main club crowds and maybe through listening, you'll help find yours.
