Robert Hood
Fabric 39
★★★½
Pretty great cover art. Hood in this fabric set is bringing a different version of himself. This isn't the minimal techno I'm used to from him, it's just off the wall techno bangers one after the other. 32 songs in a little over an hour is pretty insane. It feels like getting dealt one punch after the other, in a really upbeat and aggressive fashion. Hood brings the Detroit style that helped create into the modern era. And while his mixing is a bit amateurish here, and the song choices by other artists are questionable, he still accomplishes that. His original tracks here are supremely better, and I would've loved to have seen less tracks but more of his own. Maybe I have to travel backwards for that.
