Big K.R.I.T.
4eva Is a Mighty Long Time

★★★★

(9/11/18 Changed to ★★★½ )

To be fair I only have listened to one of his singles before, but I've known Krit to be a sort of Southern hip hop revivalist. Similar to that of Joey Bada$$ and his old New York sound. While Southern trap has been dominating hip hop culture recently, Krit drops something that seems to be inspired by the likes of those such as Outkast and UGK. And to be honest I always kind of put off double albums. Yet this is something unlike many Southern albums I've heard recently. The two discs encompass two parts of his life, the first being filled with these bangers and aggressive style that he's known for. The second disc is more personal, introspective and describes a side that we haven't really heard from Krit or most Southern rappers of the current. The guests are great fits and the self produced beats are amazing on this. Definitely one that I slept on for a while.
